A puff in need of a friend indeed.desdsAugust 7 2011, 06:46:33 UTC
There is a first year Hufflepuff standing in the middle of the busy corridor, books strewn about on the ground, her secondhand bag completely ripped across the bottom seem. She holds the bag limply and stands completely still, her little head down. She looks so small and frail as she stands before the Slytherin sixth years all pointing and snickering at her misfortune. No one moves to help and no one says a word

You've done such an awesome job at taking what we know of canon and creating an early scene between Snape, Lily, James. They are very canon in their actions. And it's such a James thing to do, isn't it--coming to someone's rescue? I very much see him as someone who would defend almost anyone who was getting unjustly picked on. And Lily's quick-to-anger personality works beautifully here. I adore how she was surprised at his behavior. Perhaps this was the beginning of her interest in him. :)

Oh, gosh. That poor little Hufflepuff made my heart ache. I love the way James just barged in there, all noble, and how Lily and James end up working together (though James doesn't know it) to help the girl. This is exactly what I was hoping for, thank you! ♥

I'm glad it's along the lines of what you were looking for! :D And I like the idea of James not knowing who cast the Reparo until years later, maybe even after they are married. hehe.
