Am having 1 of the busiest months in a long time. A LARP organisation is finally coming into reality here in Perth (with ambitions for a large national event once a year held here) and I am working with a Swede to make it happen. It is a curse and a boon to start somewhere from scratch. If you manage well then what you build will be indicative of larp in your country for years to come. Cover your basics well, from a good website to a good forum to enticing folders and good word-of-mouth. Another tip from me is to create a good 'core group' - a group of players and/or npc's that can be the models for other participants to look up to. If a core group has great costumes, roleplays well, follows the rules and fights cinematically the tone of your event has been set and other people will follow. I have had very good personal experience with these 'role models' and only a few are necessary to make a larping experience from a nice one to an excellent one ( ... )

And... plan stuff.
Schedule your 'working' hours for your project, make room for your real-job and private-time. Don't make it your main-foucs in life, there is so much more to it.

The three rules of management are:

Delegate, Delegate, and Delegate.

Follow those rules, and you'll have a much easier time.
