I really have very little idea what I'm doing with this website, so please bear with me!!
Okay, that warning out of the way, I'm Silencia, Sil, Sile (and silly too). I've been writing for a long time, but only seriously for a year and half or so. I'm currently working on my fifth novel, editing the fourth, and hoping I can make the first three (a trilogy of all things, what was I thinking?) into something workable. I've written a ton of essays and articles, most of them are published, unfortunately not for pay . . . I write bad poetry (mostly) and have only seven short stories worth mentioning. (Which is why I'm here!)
In RL I'm a writer, working toward paid writer. I also do some typesetting and a little teaching (mostly for my coven. I'm Wiccan.) I'm gonna try and get my fiance to sign up here (my purpose is completely selfish, I need stuff to read :-), but I doubt that'll happen. That's about it, sorry if I rambled but it's 7am and I'm pre-sleep . . .
Hi. I'd love to spread some personal info about myself, but this journal is kind of supposed to be my 'writing' journal, and I suffer paranoia that my friends will find it. So, no.
In terms of writing, I really don't have a set style. I've bounced from the extremely gory and horrific to the light and frivolous and presumably amusing. I'm good at scene description and certain less positive emotions of my characters, but the other emotions need work and my symbolism sucks muchly.
All writing endeavors I do are to improve on my writing, so anything I end up posting on here will have a "Please go three steps from flaming me. I want to learn!" attached on them somewhere.
Oh, and because there are an untold number of people who fall under this profile, I'm a female student in high school.
hi! no one will flame you here =D Generally we don't do critiques(unless you ask for one) -- there are many places you can get those -- but we will tell you what we liked. It's a very supportive group. We have everything from beginner writers to very good ones, and every thing in between.
I've found doing a short story every week has really improved my writing... um, at least, it has really underlined what I need to improve =D I hope it helps you was well.
I joined up a couple of weeks ago and have just found this thread. My RL name is Helen and I work in an office in London, in the UK. I write in my spare time and work best in the SF/F genre, as it's the genre I'm most passionate about, although I'll read/write anything, really.
I haven't completed anything novel-length yet, although I did write half of my WIP during NaNoWriMo. I've completed a handful of shorts and hope to write lots more here.
