Notes: What if Sam decided to give into his dark side?
A dark shadow looms invisibly around an ominous man as he stands beside a bed in a darkly lit room. A woman lies asleep on the bed, covers scattered around, but leaving her body unprotected from the elements. Slowly waking, she faces a pair of blue eyes and a smiling face as she too smiles. Unknowing to her, his smile is more than just a happy greeting. Underneath that false emotion, lays a devious intent.
He met her just last night. A local bar hangout for the residents of the small town, the dark haired man had been passing through and decided to step inside for something to drink, and perhaps more than just that. Instantly, she’d been attracted to him the moment she saw him sitting by himself. He’d been chatting with the bartender, but like him, she’d been alone that night.
Taking a seat next to him at the bar, she’d ordered a beer, and that attracted his attention to her. At first he was very quiet, making small talk, but a couple of drinks in the both of them and soon they were talking more frequently to one another. Though they appeared drunk, it was only the woman who was under the influence and that’s the way he liked it. Each sip and the woman found out that the two had much more in common than she’d thought, and even hoped, but to her surprise, the two were very much alike.
Shortly after, she found herself in his motel, a rather cheap rundown one at that, and lying down with her back against the bed and her lips pressed tightly around his own, she suddenly asked for his name after her tongue had finished exploring his mouth. He’d responded with Sam, while she’d replied back with Jennifer. There wasn’t any need for last names at that point, the first name introduction was all they needed, and the two began stripping off their clothing, beginning to kiss each other once more.
Sam. What a good boy he’d once been. A man who’d never pick up a random woman and take her back to his place, or any place he happened to be staying at the moment, but that was something his brother did a lot. Well, Dean wasn’t around anymore and he wasn’t the man he’d once been. No longer the goodhearted hunter sought on destroying anything that threatened to harm humanity Sam could care less about what happened to them now. No, he shouldn’t say that because he did care, but it had nothing to do with saving the world.
Sam’s resurrection from the grave had been one thing, though he couldn’t remember anything about the after-life, his brother’s death was what sent him over. And the side he went to was that of the dark. At first he didn’t want to allow himself to open up the powers inside, but once he’d done so, Sam could rightfully agree with the others that were once like him. You could open up a whole spectrum of abilities. He’d promised himself he wouldn’t use his abilities for that long and enable that darkness. He wouldn’t allow himself to become corrupt, but months of searching for ways to revive his brother, and the hopelessness that occurred when he’d failed numerous times to save people on his own, had left a stain that never went away.
Now, with Jennifer in bed smiling, Sam gently placed his body next to her and caressed her hair between his hands. He’d been awfully quiet that morning, less talkative than the previous night, but she didn’t mind too much. Closing her eyes, she let Sam continue with what he was doing and kept a smile on her face as he began to slowly rub his fingers softly down her face. A low noise emitted from the room, like a TV set on low audio, and at first she paid no attention, but when it didn’t stop, Jennifer took notice that the noise was coming from Sam’s mouth.
Latin. She was sure that’s the language he was speaking, and though she’d only been to Saturday school a couple of times because of her parent’s, there was no mistaking it. Curious, but perhaps a bit nervous, she wanted to ask him what he was doing, but something pressed down hard on her neck disabling her to breathe. Panicked, she opened her eyes to see Sam smiling, but not like the smile he’d displayed earlier. The expression on his face was joyous, but pure evil. And worst yet, his hands were responsible for her choking.
As the air escaped her body, the chanting that Sam was speaking suddenly grew louder until that too was suffocating her. A darkness overcame her mind and fighting to breathe, her chances of winning deemed inevitable; the only thing left for her was death. But death did not come, and as she fall into a deep sleep, something else came to take control as a black cloud that once linger just above her head, drop and disappear into her body. The voice of Jennifer spoke out with child-like innocence as she said his name.
Answering back stoically, the only word that came out of his mouth was Lilith. There was fear in her eyes and she didn’t know why he’d called her here, or how, but obviously Sam had changed and her demise wasn’t even a thought on his mind. Lilith liked taking the bodies of girls, it suited her demeanor well, but grown ups were fun too, especially if they were as pretty as this body was. Once she knew Sam meant no harm, assuming that she herself didn’t intend to kill him, Lilith opened up and each word she spoke was filled with an innocence that could murder.
It was amazing at how well he suited the dark side, she’d thought, and couldn’t believe how pure his soul had once been. She’d heard rumors from the others that he’d become corrupt, but truthfully, she didn’t believe it. It had to be seen to be believed as they say, and now that she saw it, felt it in his very core, she was overjoyed. Sammy, the boy king, had joined their side at long last.
The request was quite simple, and once Sam had explained in full detail what he wanted Lilith to do, the rest of the process was simple. There were dozens upon dozens of bodiless demons searching for a shell, and Lilith was the perfect candidate for luring in the hosts. No one ever suspected a child.
And who better then Sam to lead them.
