Planet Terror - His Palomita

Who: El Wray - "Grindhouse: Planet Terror"
What: Wray and Cherry had an out falling in the past, but when she comes back into his life, he couldn't be happier.

It'd been a long day of working and Wray slowly began retiring for the evening, but not before heading off to JT's Diner "The Bone Shack" for a cup of coffee. As usual, the place was near deserted and he liked that just fine. Being in over populated places was never his thing, and he liked the quiet more and more once he'd moved just outside of Austin. It seemed only outsiders and people passing by came to eat here, but tonight he wasn't the only customer and out of curiosity, he turned to see who had decided to stop by. When he recognized the woman sitting in the booth it hit him hard.

Palomita. Or at least the name he'd once given her. He was positive she'd no longer had use for that name since she no longer had use for him, but who knew what she was calling herself now these days, the brunette never liked to stay in the same situation for long. Their last encounter wasn't what you'd call a pleasant one and after their fighting Wray knew he'd been a bit harsh with her and meant to apologize, but he'd never gotten the chance to make up. She'd left in a hurry and never once looked back, but didn't hesitate to take a piece of him with her.

A part of him knew where his jacket had gone that night, but he still didn't stop searching for it in hopes it wasn't in the possession of the woman who just left. After giving up, he often wondered if she'd found what was inside the pocket, or carelessly threw the clothing around and either lost the item or ignored it completely. But it was out of his hands and he didn't worry about it because, like before, the past had been forgotten.

From the way she appeared all alone in the booth, he sensed she was worse off than when he last saw her, but he didn't hesitate to approach her with concern. He didn't have many people in his life he cared and trusted about, but she had been one of those people and even if they'd left off on bad terms, Wray wanted to see how she was holding up now that her life had once again started fresh. Like always, she was her brash, rude self and he couldn't help but smile underneath and think about the times they had together and how much she'd actually brightened his life... and made it hell.

It was good to see her, despite the consequences, and once he was sure she was miserable, Wray left the booth to pay the tab. But Cherry, a new name she'd aquatinted herself with and Wray swore was the name a prostitute would use, wasn't through seeing him yet and asked for a ride in an almost desperate "I still miss you" voice. What damage was done couldn't be healed, but at least Wray could be decent and send her on her way into the city, plus it meant he could see her for just a little more.
