Last year, I ran the Firefly-West Wing Title Challenge, where the challenge was to write a Firefly story inspired by (or at least, using) the title of a West Wing episode. Then earlier this year, luzdeestrellas ran the similarly themed Supernatural-West Wing Title Challenge, and each time, I kicked around the idea of writing a drabble or ficlet for each title my own self, in a variety of fandoms. And with the encouragement of luzdeestrellas, mousapelli, and amberlynne, in November, after writing 20 Hours in America, I decided to take the plunge. Originally, I gave myself a January 6 deadline, but that's 151 episode titles (of which at that point I had written stories for, oh, four), and I also had yuletide (since done) and spn_holidays (still in progress *whimper*) to get finished, and I like to sleep and eat and watch tv, so there isn't really a set deadline, but I did want to have a story for each of the twelve days of Christmas, which I have indeed managed, plus a few more beyond that (I have 23 done so far, including the original four).
So that's the explanation, and each story will be tagged with a "west wing title project" tag, and link back to this explanation, and I will also add each story to the index in this post as I post them, so they'll all be available in one place.
