Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: Lavi was tossed in right after Christmas and was really just thrown in the thick of things. Lavi barely got settled and then the next week brought around the Seven Deadly Sins, with the Bookman being affected by Pride. It wasn't all that bad, but the next week they had a shift to Facility 3 where the dome is changed to match a specific environment; this three-week trip was to the island where Jurassic Park was, complete with dinosaurs. The first week spent in a new place has no experiment, the subjects just get used to the environment. Lavi found that he could use his hammer's powers again, and put them to good use against the dinosaurs. The second week Lavi was catatonic for due to a hiatus, but the third had a major fight and one of the island's main buildings collapsed. Lavi suffered a fractured arm and offered to look around for herbs and things to give the healers like Sora and Tsunade a rest.
His arm still wasn't healed by reset when things went all sorts of wrong in honor of Facility's year of being open. A hole was blasted in one of the walls, allowing the subjects access to the rest of the space station. They learned why they were taken from captured doctors and other miscellaneous information. There were two sides during the whole event, the subjects that wanted to kill the doctors and the ones that wanted to capture them to find a way home without harming anyone. Since the Exorcists were on the latter side, Lavi sided with them too and defended the values of keeping the doctors alive despite what had been done to them. After the reset and the doctors firmly back in charge there was an optional experiment where some of the residents were reversed in time to the age of five. This was the week that he first met Death the Kid and Yosuke Hanamura and almost got killed by Kanda at the end of it for Yosuke telling "Yu" to take a nap. But Lavi found he was pretty good with kids that size, just have to entice them with stories of pirates.
When everyone had grown back up they found their rooms had been painted in obnoxious rave colors and their clothes replaced with items from the seventies. Of course with Lavi's impeccable memory the entire thing gave him nightmares for weeks after. The next week it was like walking on knives whenever anyone took a step, instead of dwelling on the mini-event, Lavi went around on his hammer to avoid walking. The mini-event that week had a list of people who would have their hearts ripped out while they were alive. Lavi tried to his break down about losing almost everybody in the Order that was there at the time and not knowing if they'd be coming back like what happens when they normally die. They didn't come back for a week after having their hearts taken out, and even with the whole thing being heartbreaking Lavi came out with a stronger bond with Kanda. Kinda made everyone forget they were only six inches tall that week, what with most everyone knowing someone who was taken or killed in a panic to replace a heart on the list.
But everyone returned the next week, just in time for their left hands to start doing whatever they wanted, be it something flirty or something dangerous. The only options to get control were tying the hand down or eating cookies that made you flirt with just about anyone. Lavi had a few of his friends flirting with him and tried to avoid the cookies, until his hand destroyed his bed and Innocence hammer did he finally eat one. That week almost made the next a cake walk despite the chaos of it, a lack of inhibitions means a very jealous and quiet Bookman, determined to keep his friends safe. Fourteenth managed to make his way out and in an effort to try and get Allen back Lavi raced to the cafeteria and fought the Noah. It wasn't until the end of the battle that Lavi found a way to try and pull Allen back to the forefront, leaving Fourteenth trying in a frenzied way to shut Lavi up. All he got for his troubles was a broken wrist, broken collarbone, a few broken ribs (some just fractured), and a severe concussions along with the normal cuts, bruises, and small fractures from playing with the Noah. The next week was an off week and allowed the Exorcist time to recover from his injuries and finally make a replica of the televisions in the common room for Kid.
When they next woke up, it was home again; the doctors had chosen the Order's version of London from the late nineteenth century. Most of the acclamation week was spent trying to teach temporary-Exorcists how to use their Innocence, fight Akuma, and make sure no one died. The next week was made only slightly difficult for Lavi with the introduction of psychological disorders, he just chose not to speak for that week as he was afflicted with a stutter. The last week there one of the residents started acting very Noah-like, but at the time no one knew who it was that was the Noah since they have a white side and a black side. At the end there was a huge battle between the Exorcists, the real ones, and the Noah just before the reset. Lavi was catatonic for vampire-week, a hiatus being at fault, and when he woke up it was a week of broadcasted dreams. After his own was shared Lavi decided that he wasn't going to sleep the entire week. It bothered him that the dream he had - entirely made up but meant to be a memory - that he didn't remember anything like it at all and mostly all his dreams are about past records.
Lavi managed to hook Allen into staying awake with him, even resorting to scribbling on his friend's face and then dousing him with water when he finally fell asleep. Somehow by the end of the week he was building a robot to fight against one of Komui's but it disappeared with the reset and with it an off week to catch up on sleep. Though who would want to sleep with Tyki Mikk and the Millennium Earl being new arrivals is anyone's guess. The next week wasn't anything traumatizing, just a glitch in the language-device that allowed everyone to understand everyone else. With his watered down abilities Lavi only was able to speak six languages but he still recognized the others that he heard, at least the ones from Earth. And he got to learn a new one from Kite, binary, something he used during the next week. During "Out of Character" week, another optional experiment, Lavi and the others of the Order were told to write reports by none other than Komui Lee.
Of course there are still nightmares from that week with Link acting like he's a little ball of sunshine and Allen taking it out on the world, but no lasting damage from that week. But Lavi's little week of respite wasn't long enough to get ready for the next idea of fun from the doctors. During Voodoo Doll week the dolls were scattered all over the place, Lavi found one but not wanting to be responsible for it he handed it off to Alma. Unfortunately his own doll was in the hands of Tyki, who ordered his own doll be returned to him or else any doll that he sees would be crushed. Lavi tried to reason with him but apparently one of the dolls in Tyki's possession was his own. After giving the Exorcist fits of pain and being told that Lavi wasn't going to beg for his life Tyki pulled a bit of stuffing out of the doll. And in turn Lavi lost a good fourth of one of his lungs. Lavi was left bleeding out in his own room and managed to get a entry out, tapping in Morse Code on it since talking was impossible at the moment. Sora managed to heal him and everything was peachy, especially with another off week coming up!
Only during one of his explanations of human interaction with Sai, Lavi mentioned something that really needed closer monitoring than originally thought. Lavi mentioned the concept of lightly punching a friend on the shoulder, as if in greeting and a form of affection, and offered to show it to Sai the next time they met in person. Only the ninja decided to try it on the other subjects he happened across in the biodome. Thankfully Lavi was able to properly teach Sai how to use the gesture, very lightly, but not until he had hit several people hard and told them that Lavi had told him about it. He would have laid low from that whole thing but the next trip to Facility 3 was up and it was down below the waters to Bioshock's Rapture, complete with Splicers, Big Daddies, and Little Sisters. Only the Little Sisters had Brothers too and they were the subjects under fourteen years of age.
Of course with a city so rich with history and information that isn't part of his own, the first thing Lavi really does is go and explore. Though he finds out that Alma has been turned into one of these "Little Brothers" and starts working with the others in the Order to find a way to save the kid. The next week in Rapture is a drugged one, the interns drug each of the subjects not already brainwashed and Lavi gets a week with Tourettes. With which he gets attacked several times by Big Daddies trying to save their charges, when really Lavi is just trying to escape the Big Daddies. The next week was withdrawal and a huge flooding of Rapture at the end of it all by the hands of one of the residents. If they managed to find a way out, they got to survive, if not...they died from drowning in the waters before reset.
With the arrival "home" the next time they wake up the subjects have an addition to their person or they've had something taken away. Lavi lost his left eye to the doctors' whims and spent most of the week getting used to using his right eye again. Which meant depth perception and equilibrium had all been thrown off. Still, it didn't help him from keeping Allen from completely breaking down and shutting down from everyone he had made attachments to. During the off week Axel rounded up a few players to play Struggle and Lavi was one of the few that managed to get himself roped into it. All in all not a bad way to get somewhat back into shape, something that would be coming back with a vengeance in a few more weeks.
One of the regular occurrences in the Facility is that the biodome gets destroyed almost every week, something that annoys the alchemists who fix it and the interns at reset that also get to. So the next experiment after reset had plants everywhere, think the "jungle" scene in Jumanji and you've pretty much got what happened. The plants were out seeking revenge and not many of them were friendly, even the ones that held fruit that wasn't poisoned had traps set up to nab those that might steal it. Lavi made a mess of his bed making a weapon to fend off the plants that tried to make their way into his room, not wanting to use his Innocence. It was something that kept Lavi from getting an excruciating headache the next week when everyone was assigned roles of master or slave. Lavi had Inazuma as a slave and while having no idea really what to make someone do - not used to giving orders when there was no danger - his bed was fixed with just a mention and he learned a bunch of history from Inazuma's world.
The next week might as well have been an off week with the doctors deciding to do a rendition of "Solitary" - which they called 'Not So Solitary Confinement' - with "volunteers" split into eight teams of four or five. The rest of the subjects got to watch on the televisions and were supplied with popcorn and beer. But everything still wasn't peachy with those watching things safely from Val's clutches. The Earl started a plot of his own to turn the subjects against Allen, going so far as having Tyki kill Link and "kidnapped" himself as well as several other subjects. When they were in his keep there were Akuma parts put within all but one of them and each remember seeing "Allen" before blacking out. It was a plan that was discovered and pulled out into the open later on, the parts safely removed. Lavi, however, was drunk by the end of reset and suffering a hangover come Sunday.
Thankfully it was a true off week with a mini-experiment attached to it, an optional one where the residents clothes were switched with something slightly outrageous. Lavi was lucky in the respect that he was graced with a firefighter uniform, all he had to deal with was the heavy boots and pants. They were...a little problematic during his spar with Kanda, an early morning drill that was to become ritual with every morning if the experiment allowed. Next week's didn't really allow it what with all the spiders - mostly poisonous - crawling around and trying to make everyone ill and dead. That was training within itself and Lavi pretty much took to it like whack-a-mole! However, there was a small bit of dimming on the week what with Kanda's significant other being terminated and Lavi offered his ear as a friend, nothing of what would be said - whenever it would be said - would be recorded.
The next week had a rather fun experiment that pretty much had Lavi reverting - however briefly - to his Bookman self to keep from being affected like the doctors would like. It helped him remain calm when everyone had bombs attached to their hearts, bombs that would explode given any spike in their heartbeat. After helping Link clean up the mess Allen made from his explosion he pretty much stayed in his room, ignoring even his birthday. Probably the only highlight of it all would be Tyki pulling the bomb out of his own chest with his phasing and exploding. Despite still trying to shake off the effects of reverting, the next week's optional experiment made everything flow right back into "Lavi's" persona. He was a she for the entire week and a right pretty one if the Exorcist could say so. It was mostly a week spent taunting Link and temporarily exchanging clothes in order to make things make sense. Of course, being Lavi, the last few minutes just before reset were spent wandering down the halls topless. Just to irritate Link, really, and because to Lavi it was just flesh. Why cover up the top?
All the carefree and happy went out the window after Lavi's week of being catatonic during an off week, they were suddenly shipped to NeoGenesis' Abyss and so were a number of other people. They kept appearing for the next two weeks and giving the subjects nothing but worry, all of them were wearing collars in colors other than black and had Faciliberries. Since the two weeks spent there really affected the Exorcist, it was typed up as an explanation for what happened upon their return to Facility 1 at the end of two weeks. It's located
here and although not mentioned in it, Lavi was able to meet with two current residents of Siren's Pull: Nill and Yosuke Hanamura. Lavi was rescued and healed with the majority of his fellows from the slavers clutches but obviously it was a little too late and left the Bookman affected.
Currently Deak is in charge and still trying to fool those that Lavi has a connection with into thinking that nothing at all is wrong. But the fellow is quite "derp" at it given that it isn't his personality at all, the mates from his home world know something is up. However, he knows that he has the wordless support from them that Lavi needs and it helps the former record's attempts to hurry the healing process along, Kanda shocking him the most with his offer to listen. It was set back a few paces, though, come reset and the termination of three of Lavi's good friends: Sai, Death the Kid, and Gaara.
When paired up with Eridan for the week - one of the Homestruck trolls - Lavi spent most of his time in the troll's room. The other was injured and they couldn't go more than a few feet from one another before the collars shocked them, Lavi taught Eridan a bunch of card games. Which, he learned, are pretty offensive in Eridan's home, the playing cards (or their shapes: ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠) were pornography.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: Not a lot has actually changed from Lavi's personality yet despite the hammering the doctors put the subjects through every week. If anything he's become even more protective of his friends and colleagues each time he loses another to termination. And due to each termination, Lavi gets drawn more and more drawn to the idea of just closing off all together.
But just before they hit the Abyss Lavi had begun a new train of thought, one that - as stated in the link in his history - he knew he wasn't going to be able to hold on to things without holding onto someone. So he was contemplating letting all those feelings that have been slowly eating at his Bookman-self finally break through to that heart he wasn't supposed to have. Instead Lavi broke down to paranoia and trauma, something he's dealing with while a record from the past steps up and deals with the daily life and experiments. It's only meant to last a month and Deak is to mimic Lavi's personality as best he can without letting anyone know.
He generally fails at this but gets by and by the end of it Lavi comes out a stronger Bookman. One who can accept the attachments, have a heart, but he's still determined to not let them influence the record. And telling his friends and world-mates ultimately help this whole thing settle back down in the depths of his memory. Distancing himself from it as if it happened to someone else and he just recorded it, most likely not the healthiest thing to do but at the moment Lavi doesn't have someone he can fully trust. He trusts his world-mates and friends, but it's different than having just that one person he can really lean on and tell absolutely anything that crosses his mind. And oddly Kanda is the closest to that, but Lavi would never burden him with it, doesn't expect him to want it.
Nightmares and moments where he doesn't quite seem Lavi will pop up in the coming months, not even he will be able to avoid this. But Lavi won't let the slips show and is determined to keep being a regular ray of sunshine. Even if that refrains from hugging and general touching unless absolutely necessary.
