He was a workerbot for a mining company and someone bought him when they upgraded models. So he was reformatted and reprogrammed to be an archivebot and his frame got an overhaul to make it more pleasing to the eye.
Then the Earl bought him to use him for that very purpose but before he could Roadbot found him and tried to reprogram him into a nannybot. That failed and so she threw in the Dark Matter to hide it and his programming accepted it so thus Tyki is born.
Fail!nannybot programming has him caring for and playing with Roadbot as well as helping her with her "homework" when she pleads with him.
