Kinda Freaked Out

There is a large fire just a few miles away from my mom's house, and it is 0% contained. The fire is west of her and was moving north-ish. When I talked to her this morning they had evacuated the town about 1 1/2 miles north of her (Bellvue, CO, where many of my friends live), though she had not gotten a reverse 911 call telling her to evacuate ( Read more... )

That is so scary. I'm going to keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully they will be able to stop that fire.

Yeah, not so much. The fire is twice as big today, and still 0% contained, which is not uncommon. I just wish it weren't quite so close to home.

I can totally understand the nervousness.

When we had the big tornado come through last year, it got within spitting distance of good friends, their homes, and not very far from where I grew up/used to live, so that was a bit freaky for me.
