→ 1879 - 1880 → Yuu Kanda (June 6, 1879) and Alma Karma (May 2, 1880) - both female.
→ As the war with the Millennium Earl waged on, there was a period of time in which the Order was losing more Exorcists than it was finding them.
→ January 1895 → A large-scale attack led by Cyril left many Exorcists either dead or unfit for battle, and Central became in dire need for more Exorcists.
→ Several candidates amongst the remaining Exorcists were chosen to take part of the Synthetic Disciple Project, an attempt at creating new, "perfect" Exorcists.
→ → In a nutshell, chosen "wombs" were implanted with embryos synthetically created from combined Exorcist DNA. Whose, it is unknown to everyone but the few involved with the project.
→ → Exactly how this was accomplished, mun doesn't know Kanda doesn't remember, as most of this happened under a potent anesthetic.
→ May 1895 → Kanda was entered into the program just a month shy of 17, and she underwent three "trials" which did not yield any results - each of embryos died soon after implantation.
→ Alma went through three failed trials as well, although the fourth one appeared as though it was going to be successful. It survived long enough for her to carry the child to full term, but complications surrounding the birth caused her and the baby to die.
→ → Death of a "womb" - and subsequently, a fellow Exorcist - brought the Project to an indefinite hiatus.
→ August 1897 → Kanda was allowed to rejoin the fellow Exorcists at 18. By then, the Order had changed after the discovery of so many new Exorcists.
→ Very few people outside the Project knew what the SDP was, or why it had existed. Likewise, only few people really know Kanda well.
→ Kanda, for the most part, refuses to reveal her gender in a feeble attempt at putting that part of her life behind her.
→ The war waged on for three and a half more years. Over time, it had begun to wear down on those fighting in it. While still determined to win, many of the Exorcists had begun to get cynical of this cause. Especially Lavi, Timothy, and Kanda.
→ January 1901 → The final battle was in France. The night before it was to occur, Kanda decided to live for herself for a moment, convinced she was not going to return. She wanted to experience being close to someone. Who? Well, that's a secret~
→ Ultimately, despite the significant loss of life in the war, Allen won the war. More importantly, Kanda did return. Lavi and Bookman parted ways two weeks after the final battle.
→ March 1901 → Kanda decided to stay at the Order; found out she's pregnant.
