Don't be ashamed--it's perfectly normal! I've been tempted to refer to mine as Jean-Pierre from time to time. [Though he'd refrained, and never given it an official name at all. The fact that Jean-Pierre was the francophone version of the English name John Peter was what made him even think about it in jest.
