Some clarification and maybe more convolution of Sens' oracle abilities. This is probably stuff I've gone over before, but I don't remember.
- Initially, it's been mentioned that Sens has a problem keeping his psychic abilities from going crazy on him. I then had a thought that maybe it was something else. What if he actually saw everything that was going to happen to a person or a group of people clearly? Like, nothing is obscure and left mysterious and in pieces, but everything shows as it's suppose to happen? The only reason it is assumed to be mysterious and cryptic is because Sens doesn't share any of the details. Because he knows what is going to happen, he is usually wary of sharing this information with whoever is seen in these visions. (For the more serious visions, anyway. The stupid ones he shares right off the bat just because he can.) These can change from time to time, but there's a chance that the end result will stay the same. His fears of letting Fate decide and his vagueness in telling the truth of the matter can easily work for or against people, a 50/50 chance that can literally doom anyone he's come in contact with. Which means he feels very guilty every time the serious ones crop up and he fails to mention how bad the damage can be.
(Yes, I do realize this is a pretty godmode-y -like thing to have happen, but it would have been something I'd have ask permission for otherwise. That is, if it was possible to do this at all, given the size of player population and who all were participating, etc.)
- For everything he can see in other people, he ironically cannot see for himself. In other words, he fails at seeing his personal potential future(s). That adds to the fear he feels when he sees everyone else go through one of many storylines. If he knows what they'll go through, how come he can't see what will become of him? He's left to guess - which is what every non-psychic being does on a daily basis. Reliance on an ability that doesn't work for him adds to his heightened level of stress.
- Mentoring got him this far, and he still needed more mentoring. Out of the two main mentors he had, Madame O (whose real name is never mentioned) was better at being both the teacher and a motherly figure. During those few years, Sens was able to bond with the old woman and take her place as the Fortune Teller in the traveling circus. I figure she was fine, but her health started waning in the middle of that part of the story (which leads up to Sens taking over for her). She also did a self-sacrifice move when circus grounds fell under attack, letting Sens escape with his life...
- ...Said siege on the circus was possibly a vision Sens never told anyone about. WHICH WOULD BE TERRIBLE SINCE. HE NEVER SAID ANYTHING. This could have been avoided??? Maybe??? I don't know.
- I wish I did more of the random lightning explosions with him. The chatter over the feed about him actually being married to someone he just didn't want to be involved with was the only present example of that.
- I also wish I did the whole thing where his hair accidentally gets chopped off and he freaks out because of it. MORE LIGHTNING!
But anyway. That's about all I can think of.
[EDIT: I lied, more stuff appeared after I woke up today.]
- The whole half-sibling deal: after acquiring James' character to the group (whose name I've completely forgotten along with everything else that's stuck on my laptop that I don't have with me right now), Sens would get snippets of memories whenever he's around the Paladin. I say flashes and snippets because this is tied to him, and as I have already explained above, he doesn't get to see everything. At the time, both have no idea they share a mother (I did talk about the details once with James, too. Again, all on my laptop that's not here) until Sens sees enough to find out they're related. The thing is, he's concerned about how the big guy would take the news. This isn't something that can be played off like nothing. So he resolves to just take the brunt of the Paladin's fighting lessons and do his best not to disappoint while trying to work up the courage to confront him with this information.
I also figure they have to have some kind of resemblance between them. But...they're so opposite of each other, I don't even. Tall vs. not-so-tall, eye color, skin color, etc.
- Speaking of family, we know who the mother is. Mercenary mama is awesome and scary. But Sens' dad? Who is he? So far, I've been able to come up with the fact that the dude was probably was a threat to some big shot. I'd say mage with some psychic abilities, but that's also pushing it. Mercenaries are sent out to get him and guess who actually does trap him first? I have no idea what saved him from being brought back dead, though. His face? His eyes? Maybe he just knows what to say. And after that short time spent together, he disappears and we never get to see him again. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up dead.
- In terms of crew family, Sens sees them all as annoying. Which is true for the most part, but he does care about them. Expressing affection toward everyone only comes out when he's drunk out of his skull (ex. cheek-rubbing with Sin, like a contented cat). In fact, he's one of the few characters I have that doesn't have a crush on anyone. He sees Sin as an older sister and he mostly gets treated like the youngest of the crew anyway. But yeah. He's so awkward unless everyone prods him. Then he gets going.
