#72 Rebellion
Sirius looked at the magazines strewn across his bed: motorcycles and girls in bikinis, two of his favourite things. He glanced up at the walls, dark green and barren. The walls reminded him of how disappointed his mother was in him, even though he really could care less. A Black should have Slytherin pennants and banners draped on the walls. When he was a small child, he originally hung the Slytherin banner over his bed, wanting to follow in his parents’ footsteps. Now it resided in his closet, buried beneath other useless objects and things.
Standing carefully on a chair, he stuck the brand new Gryffindor banner to the wall with a Permanent Sticking Charm. He did the same with pages ripped from the magazines, sticking them in various spots to cover the sickly green walls. His final addition was a picture taken before the Summer Holidays of him and his three best friends. They were smiling and laughing at the camera.
He had only been home for a few days now, but he missed them immensely. He missed the castle with its moving staircases and shining suits of armour. He missed the ghosts, professors and even some of the homework. He missed being wanted, even though he tried not to show it.
Glancing quickly at the calendar on his wall, he quickly counted up the days until he could see his friends again. Only seventy-one days left until the Hogwarts Express left King’s Cross Station. Only seventy-one more days.
