The cell is cold and drafty, and I pull my worn and patched robes tighter around me. If only they’d bring me another blanket. This one has more holes than a slice of Swiss cheese and didn’t keep me warm.
I could see the moon out my window, its light shining through in small squares on the floor. Moony was out there somewhere, transformed all alone. Did he ever think about us? Did he ever think about me?
How many nights did the four of us wander school grounds? Under how many full moons did we sneak out of our dormitory? Even after we graduated, we still met up to keep Moony company.
As I sit in this cold, dreary, drafty cell, I stare up at the moon. All I want is to run with Moony one more time.
