a lot of people like using the hal leonard series books but they might be a bit much for a 4 year old. worth checking out though...i started on them in kindergarten without a problem.
Kodaly is actually not really a way of learning piano -- but Suzuki can be. I do a lot of Kodaly stuff in my regular classroom teaching, and I also teach piano to kids in kindergarten and up. I do recommend Suzuki highly; I was raised on it. But as an adult, I teach the more "traditional" model for piano. In any case, could I ask you why you don't want to gravitate toward the Suzuki model?
That being said, with the students in Kind/1st grade or so, I like to use the Faber & Faber Piano adventures books.
I work in a music store, and I know the piano teachers there (who work with a number of very young kids) tend to like the Faber & Faber 'Piano Adventures' and the John Thompson 'Little Fingers' books.

Hi, Have you tried to find music teacher who works with age of your child? If you do not know how to teach her - the best way - do not teach. A role of the first teacher is very important.
