LET'S PARTY TOM HARDY

OK, so, first off: I can hardly deal with all the amazing feedback to my Inception fic. I'm all wibbly and shit! Coming out of a three year dry spell to this kind of reception is pretty fricking amazing. YOU GUYYYYYYS! ;___; ♥ ♥ ♥

(YOU SEE, BRAIN? YOU'RE NOT SHIT. CAN WE MAYBE TRY TO BELIEVE THAT FOR LONGER THAN TEN MINUTES THIS TIME? THAT WOULD ( Read more... )

Hi! *waves*

Bronson. Was BRILLIANT. I absolutely loved it and it feels kind of weird to have that sort of reaction about a movie about an IRL super violent guy who's known for being England's most popular and long-time prisoner. Yeah. Which means that Tom Hardy is an amazing actor (as he stated in that Jonathan Ross interview, he definitely is the go-to guy to play the nutters) and also that the script was really well done -- it uses a lot of interesting/quirky devices to help tone down the violence.

It's been a while since I saw Hard Candy, but if you can get through that one, I think you can get through Bronson. Though I'll warn you, I have a pretty high tolerance for pain/violence/cruelty in movies. (ETA: Though I might also clarify that while there was plenty of violence in Bronson, I don't really think I'd say there was much cruelty.)

You should also check out Stuart: A Life Backwards, which was also an excellent film (and also another example of Tom Hardy playing a crazy). More touching and positive than Bronson, but ( ... )

HALLO! :D

Thank you so much for all your thoughts, my dear. From the way you describe it, it sounds like I'll be able to handle Bronson. Like I said, I've watched the entirety of OZ, where pretty much every five minutes someone gets maimed or murdered in increasingly horrific ways. Soooo my tolerance for that stuff is pretty high! ;)

I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN DO ON THE ARTHUR/EAMES/ARIADNE FRONT! MY BRAIN JUST HAS TO COOPERATE FIRST >:(

UGH, I LOVE INCEPTION FEVER + how everyone just HAS to watch every single movie every one of the actors has ever been in. I'm doing the same damn thing (ugh I just watched Star Trek: Nemesis for my husb). Bronson was great because Ed Hardy is the B.E.S.T. and you see his actual penis a lot.

TOM HARDY IS PRETTY GREAT. UGH. He is ridiculous. Like, he seems like the BIGGEST DOUCHEBAG, but also is full of all these crazy insecurities? Did you know he auditioned for Generation Kill and didn't get it and was going to basically JOIN THE ARMY to prove that he would be the BEST SOLIDER EVER????? What a crazy cray cray.

How boring/bad was RocknRolla? I keep thinking about watching it, but I have been warned away. Also I don't know if you have heard much about Hard Candy, but that film is in my TOP TWO disturbed-the-shit-out-of-me films ever. I couldn't stop thinking about it and feeling sick for days.

WAT.

ON THE ONE HAND, WOAHHH TOM HARDY. *eyebrow*

ON THE OTHER, I AM NOW RETROACTIVELY DEVASTATED THAT TOM HARDY WAS NOT IN GENKILL. EXCEPT I CANNOT IMAGINE WHO HE WOULD HAVE PLAYED. CONUNDRUM???

Hmm. RocknRolla was...ehhh. There were some really fun and amusing bits, and it had tons of people I love in it, but it wasn't fantastic or anything, and I did find myself getting bored in parts. The best thing about it is Tom Hardy as Handsome Bob, really. And Thandie Newton being a hot bitch. Soooo...this probably isn't very helpful at all, is it? :p

Ahahaha, why yes! It looks as if we are, for the time being at least :D It's the fandom that's got me writing again, so I'm hoping to stick around for a while.
