♥ CLASSES HAVE OFFICIALLY STARTED! Things so far are looking really good, although it's pretty tragic that my prof for Anthropology of Media is the most DULL person I've ever encountered. SNOOZE-O-RAMA HOLY CRAP
( Read more... )
Oh, bb - I took many a class with a wonderful title (cause yes, Anthropology of Media sounds SO FUN, ZOMG!!! I miss being in schoooool!) and ended up disappointed because of a boring/shitty/whatever prof. And the reverse is true as well - requires courses that I thought were going to suck ended up being awesome. So yes, profs! They make a difference! Hopefully the class won't be all lecture and some of your fellow students can make it a bit more interesting with discussion?
Sigh. Show. What are we going to do with you? Your points are all spot on, especially the caplocked parts, lol. I am just... next time we all watch together, we're going to need a lot of booze and good food to drown the pain. :/
I'm with rulethirtyfour - write that Chuck AU. It sounds like good old fashioned horror. REMEMBER WHEN THE SHOW WAS SCARY? REMEMBER THAT? Sniffle.
Upon re-reading, I am nodding along with the entire thing, most especially this:
Do the writers want to YET AGAIN rewind all that character development and emotional growth they spent an entire season cultivating just so they can show how ~*meta*~ they are?
And also crying a little bit, because the answer is probably yes. I have never watched a show that did as much back and forth on character development - that straight up DROPS the threads of the characters' mental and emotional arcs - as often as this one - be it for LULZ or plot contrivances or because each writer in that room seems to have a different conception of the characters' defining traits. SIGH.
