I really don't think it's necessary to turn this into a 'who's the better friend' competition. That's selfish and completely missing the point.

It's amazing what a difference a smile and a hello can make.

EDIT: I'm riding in Little 500 as a rookie and an alpha. Yeah...

I agree, but try not to take it too personally. There are so many emotions flying around right now that everyone is more sensitive and more likely to be seemingly irrational about little things. You did what felt right, and honestly I think it was completely appropriate and heartfelt and you shouldn't worry too much. [Sorry I never responded to your Facebook message.]

It's okay that you never responded to my facebook message! Rereading it it doesn't sound like I was necessarily asking for one so it's all good. (And it IS all good...I finally got to talk about it yesterday.)
