I just saw an ad for the Jane Austen Book Club and thought I might pass on it, but your comments make me want to give it a try. I love Jane Austen, but it looked like there was a big emphasis on infidelity in the movie among the modern characters.

The topic of infidelity is definitely one of the larger plot points. One woman goes through a divorce when her husband meets someone new, and one woman contemplates an affair with one of her students (I can tell you if she does it or not if you want). Still it manages to wrap things up much the way Austen would have. You know how things can look so bleak for some of the characters (sisters who do scandalous things) and how sometimes everything is fixed (Pride and Prejudice), and sometimes they just have to deal with their decisions (Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey). It's definitely a modern twist.
