That seems to be a plausible case.

Although, it's unsettling to know that the chip might still be in one's body even after escaping Discedo.

I wonder if a surgeon could find it back home...not that you would know to tell them to look for it.

It almost makes me wonder if all those stories about alien abductions were real.

Perhaps the chip could be seen with an x-ray or a machine similar to that.

...Alien abductions?

Yes.

You didn't hear of them back home?

I heard about that, but the aliens usually tend to stay on Filgaia rather than abducting the people back to their planet.

Oh, I don't think they brought them back to their own planets. They just conducted experiments on humans aboard their flying spaceships.

...What type of aliens did your planet have?

One of the most common aliens on Filgaia are the Metal Demons.

The media usually presented them as monstrous green creatures with numerous slimy tentacles.

It sounds counterproductive to have the general public fear something rather than feel safe.

Does it? I would think that it keeps them alert.

Unless they start panicking and end up doing something irrational out of their fear.

Most people didn't believe in aliens, anyway. So that was never really an issue.

Aliens don't exist in your world?
