Summary : Fifth Chapter of the Junebuggy Primero Año de PepSi Challenge

A/N: Hi everyone!! I'm loving how this story is coming together! We have so many talented writers on here! Well....here is my contribution...hope you like it.

**WAVING MY HANDS** Hey Lovely, you're next in line.

Pepa quietly stares as Silvia treads through the water closer to Pepa. A small smirk on her face as the water glides past her body making small waves in her wake. There is nothing like the color of her red hair smoothed across the top of her head.

“Silvia...have I told you lately how beautiful you are....especially with your hair wet like it is now”

Knowing how Silvia’s mind works, Pepa knows that she can’t get away with splashing water without some kind of retaliation. Telling her how beautiful she is, is just an excuse to buy more time before she can continue with this play time.

Silvia continues to smile, eyeing up Pepa with her head just above the surface.

“Pepa....do you remember that we had gym class together in middle school?”

Gym class? Geeze I think I would have remembered Silvia in a swimsuit. Or at least the changing of clothes before or after?

Seeing that Pepa is struggling with any recollection of the events. She gives her a reality check from her past.

“You don’t remember...because you would always skip out after lunch. Never making it back in time for gym class. What a shame.....you would have realized how well I can swim...”

Just then Silvia disappears under the water, leaving Pepa rather disappointed with lost opportunities from her past. Before she can dwell any longer with the mis-opportunities, she feels a startling poke to her belly button. She looks down to watch Silvia swim out of reach. Two can play this game. Silvia may be able to swim but I know that I can hold my breathe.

Soon Silvia breaks the surface searching for Pepa. Brushing away excess water from her face she allows her eyes adjust to being above water. The quick scan of the pool leaves no doubt that she is the only one in the pool above water. She scans the surrounding water to try to find any sign of Pepa. Coming up with nothing, she looks at the chairs where they left their beach towels. Still no Pepa. Did she leave me here? Is she hiding just out of eyesight only to jump into the pool with an obnoxious wave of water? She decides getting out of the pool would be the best way to investigate further. Swimming towards the edge of the pool, she is within an arms length away when Pepa pops up in front of her.

“Looking for me?”

Startled, she takes in a mouth full of water and emerges from the surface coughing and trying to catch her breath.

On the receiving end of a stern squint from the red heads eyes, Pepa realizes that all games are off. She reaches out and simply rubs her back in attempt to calm Silvia with the most honest attempt of concern.

“Breathe... are you ok?”

“I should have known better. I was expecting you to do a cannonball into the pool...not an up close and personal visit.”

“You weren’t expecting up close and personal?”

“Well....”

Silvia is now smiling with her soft brown eyes, melting Pepa’s concern.

“.....if you give me one of those kisses...”

Realizing the undercurrent of a past conversation, neither hesitate to kiss.

The night air blows through the open window making the curtains dance. Waking just enough to realize the I am cold, I roll over in an attempt to snuggle closer to Silvia. Without opening my eyes my hand reaches across the sheets. Not feeling her, I slid my hand up across the empty space until I reach the unoccupied pillow. Where is she? My eyes adjust to the darkness as I find myself more awake than I attended to be only moments ago.

Sitting up I squint to see if there is a light shining from the bathroom or if I can hear any kind of movement. Silence. Nothing but silence. My mind quickly replays the events of the evening. Did I do something to upset her? We came back to our room and order room service. Dessert became a little messy with each of us licking chocolate frosting off of offending body parts. The chocolate was gone but not forgotten as we continued to kiss and touch in a ritual newly established between the two of us. Did I read her all wrong. Is she second guessing the time alone with me? No interruptions. No distractions? I quickly convince myself that it can’t be possibly true as I wrap the top sheet around my naked body to search for Silvia.

Establishing that the bathroom was empty I turn to catch a glimpse of her figure through the moving curtains standing on the patio over looking the city below.

“Hey beautiful”

She turns looking back at me and smiles.

“Did I wake you?”
“No...my body must have sensed that you were gone....how long have you been up?”

I wrap my arms around her, allowing my body and the sheet form a protective cocoon around her.

“Not long...I can’t stop thinking about Dr.Castillo.”

“She was a friend?”

“I guess you could say that. She was always more interested in the science and research part of forensics. Once she discovered the new technique I knew she wouldn’t stay with us much longer. She taught me so much more than what my medical books could.”

“She must have been well respected. Your Dad must of liked her.”

“She had a strong personality...they butted heads a few times.”

“hmm... I’m sorry that you lost a friend.”

“Thank you....”

Neither said a word as they relished the silence and time alone. The craziness of work was miles away. No demands, requests or orders from Don Lorenzo or their drama surrounding the family. Nothing but alone time.

The night sky was clear allowing the stars to display there random patterns in the sky. Sensing that Silvia was staring at the stars also Pepa leaned in to give her a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Do you remember the saying written inside the card that I gave you after your mother died?”

Silvia squints her eyes looking at Pepa. She had no idea where this conversation came from or where it was heading.

“No...”

“It said that perhaps they are not stars in the sky....but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy”

Silvia sighs. “I remember that saying...Pepa. Another star is up there somewhere for the doctor.”

Pepa just nods in agreement.

“Do you have a plan for tomorrow?”

Pepa replies,“Lets just see where the road takes us...”
