What kind of toys do you recommend? What do they do?

I gravitate toward music and art toys that I can noodle around with in a freeform way for a few minutes here and there. My favorites are Beatwave, Falling Stars by Trident (yes that's its full name, I swear it's way, way cooler than you're imagining from the name), Star Walk (this is a tilt- and motion-sensitive augmented reality stargazing toy and it is totally amazing if you like space at all), and Flowpaper. I sometimes do actual drawing in Sketchbook Pro. SoundHound identifies music in noisier environments than Shazam does, but may have a smaller library. Terra is a good, free alternate web browser. The Kindle, Pandora, Netflix, Flixster, Yelp, Zagat, Wikipanion and Dictionary.com apps are all indispensable in their various ways.

And not a single workplace productivity app in the bunch. XD My iPad is my personal dicking-around-on-public-wifi-and-watching-movies-in-bed device, though, not a work thing.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I've now downloaded approximately three million free apps onto my ipad so... yay? I guess it'll be good to pass the time on my commutes.
