Infuriating

This happened just a couple of blocks from where Jason and I live. I immediately called Jason and told him to be wary of helping out strangers on the street. I hate how stupid acts of violence reduces our willingness to act on human decency.

yeah, and outsiders wonder why city folks act so aloof sometimes. It's for our own safety! A highschool friend of mine was mugged recently after being lured by a guy claiming to need help getting his car started (or some such flimsy excuse... I forget the details).

oh my, that's terrible. Whenever I read stuff like that my heart stops when I think about how easily I would jump to someone's aid if my help was needed. It's scary to think that people would be so ruthless as to prey on human kindness. I hope your friend is okay!
