♪ REGULAR PERSONALITY APPLICATION ♫
Name: Tegan
Age: 18
Gender: Female
First time or re-stamp? Restamp. My previous stamp (Paul McCartney), though nice, just isn't the best possible fit.
Want to be stamped as male/female/don't care? Preferably a man who is not a Beatle. But if there is a female artist who is better suited, go for it!

THE USUALS
Describe good qualities or strengths in your personality: Intelligent, thoughtful, good sense of humour (although dry, sarcastic and a bit twisted at times), sympathetic, empathetic, articulate, naive, trusting, honest, vulnerable, passionate, opinionated, self-aware. I'm a bit quirky and, as some would say, eccentric.
How about bad traits or weaknesses? Sometimes I'm too naive, trusting, honest, or vulnerable. Introverted. Slightly neurotic. Need to think before I speak or I say things that are ill-considered or could be taken the wrong way. When I get angry, I tend to get overly angry and jump down people's throats if I don't give myself a chance to cool down. Shy with strangers. Hard time communicating coherently with normal people sometimes - too intellectual. Too emotional sometimes, which can lead to a world of hurt. I'm a little too stubborn and resistant to change at times. Addictive personality - I'm interested in a variety of things and tend to get a bit obsessive about them. Oh - and I'm absent-minded and forgetful, which I forgot to mention originally.
What are your musical talents? At one point, I played the clarinet. I'd love to play the guitar, but don't fancy the possibility that I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I can appreciate most music to some extent, regardless of whether I enjoy it.
And what other talents do you have? Are you an amateur-photographer, astrophysicist, or a brilliant cook? Go on, brag as much as you like! Well, I can take fairly good pictures. I knit and crochet a bit. I teach acting and act a little sometimes myself, but it's not really my thing.
What are you afraid of? People who hurt me emotionally - intentionally or not - and the utter cruelty or some members of the human race towards individual of all species. Time - not having enough. Nuclear weapons and violence of all kinds. Apathy.
And what makes you happy? Music, my pets (cats, dogs, birds), comedy, crime dramas, the Muppets the kindness of others, learning things, achieving things, sharing my favourite things with like-minded people. Victorian-era everything. Connecting to people in meaningful ways.

THE HARD ONES
Think of a book or a movie you identify with or that you feel describes you somehow. Feel free to go into detail: I really enjoy Robert Fulghum's philosophies on life, so All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten is a favourite book of mine and has been for some time.
What color or colors would you use to describe your personality to others? I wouldn't describe myself in terms of colours. Bit too ambiguous.
About your social life: do you have many friends or just a few very close ones? Do you like parties, or prefer a quiet evening at home? Fall in love quickly or hardly ever at all? Tell us what you like: Just a few close friends. I'm not so good at approaching people, so I sometimes have a hard time making friends. I don't seek shallow relationships, which makes things tricky. I'd rather be at home with my family than at a large party, but small parties can be tolerable. I fall in love perhaps too quickly and too deeply when I am really taken with somebody. I'm attracted to intelligent people mainly.
Do you crave recognition and fame, or do you prefer to work behind the scenes? Some measure of each. I want to be somewhat low-key (i.e: not getting ambushed by people wanting autographs in my day-to-day life), but I also want as much recognition as I can get. It's important that I'm known for my achievements rather than my image.
What causes, if any, are important to you (animal rights, fighting poverty etc)? Animal welfare, human rights, better sex ed programs, banning smoking in public places. Basically, eliminating ignorance.

PREFERENCES
What kind of music do you usually listen to? (Bear in mind that artists often listen to all kinds of music and not only music similar to their own) I am most intrigued by artists who can work in a number of different styles, but if I must categorize, I listen to rock/pop (anything from the 50s all the way through the 80s with a few modern artists as well), big band (the Benny Goodman Orchestra is a favourite), jazz, the soundtracks to musicals (Rocky Horror, Spamalot, etc.), some folk. No throwaway music - music is art and should be treated as art. However, the artist must have a sense of humour. I don't like people who take things overly seriously, and that applies to music too. I appreciate lyrics that illicit some sort of emotional response from me or have a story to tell. I like the Beatles, but much of their music feels a bit deadened emotionally, which keeps me from having any real cathartic moments while listening to them. My favourite artists are probably Queen, the Beatles, Traveling Wilburys, the Who, ABBA, ELO, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Jakob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Sting, Lady Gaga. I adore Buddy Holly. I've never heard a song by him I didn't like. I'm not really fond of Led Zeppelin - there's not too much variety in their music. They seem very samey to me. But the two basic types of song they do (blues-rock and folk), they do very well. I can see how they're appealing.
What qualities do you admire in other people? Generosity, compassion, honesty, kindness to animals, the ability to make others feel comfortable around them, the ability to create art of any kind.
Filling out applications can make one hungry. What's your favorite kind of food? Broccoli. Pretty much any vegetable, really. And dark chocolate, though I'll eat any sort of chocolate. Ah, who am I kidding? I like pretty much everything. Not too picky.
And what about the drinks? Tea or cranberry juice. Most often, though, I drink water.
If you could travel anywhere in the world and you had to leave tomorrow morning, where would you go? Somewhere in England, maybe. It's a country with lots of old buildings and things, which I like and find interesting.

IF I WAS A RICH MAN
So you're a huge superstar now. Would you prefer to be in a band or do you fly solo? I'd like to be in a band. Working with others seems like it would be a good experience. It would have to be truly collabrative, though. I think I would do solo albums on the side if and when I really felt that I was creating music not appropriate for the group.
Give us a piece of lyrics from any song that you would accept in your repertory:
I'm not giving specifics this time. But I love clever rhymes, interesting phrasing, and the occasional joke to keep things from getting too heavy.
As every huge star, you also have the essentials that you MUST have in your dressing room, backstage. What are they: Tea, chocolate, internet, comfy clothes, maybe a book or two, probably a board game like Trivial Pursuit or Tribond.
Do you like flamboyant performing costumes and big shows, or is music the main thing? The music should sound different than it does on the album and the live show must be an experience. If it doesn't happen this way, people can just stay home and listen to the album. So, cool clothes and a bit of showmanship - as much as can be gotten away with without compromising the quality of the music or distracting from it. No fire-eating or anything too ostentatious.

ONE OR THE OTHER
Are you more...
OUTGOING or SHY: Depends on who I'm around. People who don't know me well are sometimes surprised when I do speak because I speak so little, but if I'm with people I'm comfortable around I can get a bit rowdy.
AGGRESSIVE or CALM: Mostly calm, but I can get aggressive at times.
LEADER or FOLLOWER: Depends. If something is really important to me, I want to have input and control. Otherwise, I am content to follow.
THE ONE WITH NEW IDEAS or THE ONE TO COMBINE IDEAS: Both. Harnessing old ideas can inspire new ideas.
THE LADIES MAN/FEMME FATALE or THE BOY/GIRL NEXT DOOR: Neither. Can't be the girl next door if I don't live next door, and I'm hardly fatal.
THE PRANKSTER or THE SERIOUS ONE: Is anybody truly one or the other? That said, I am mostly the serious one. Since I don't tolerate jokes played on me very well, I hesitate to play them on others - though certainly I enjoy a good prank.
