I miss you already Jake...

I'm writing this entry today in commemoration of my oldest dog Jake, who was put to sleep today August 15, 2005 4:26 PM.. His condition: a cancerous tumor in the bladder and the lymph nodes, that caused kidney damage along with the inability to urinate thus causing his bladder to inevitably swell

Cole, I couldn't really say this over the phone... I don't think it would have made it out right. But, when I saw you in math class after you came back, I don't know, I caught your eye and you wouldn't make eye contact, but I saw that you were really upset, and I can't tell you how worried I was about you. I guess it was one of those looks that really stays ingrained in your memory. And seeing that look on your face, with you being just about the best friend I've ever had, it just killed me.

I really am so encredibly sorry for your loss, Cole. If there is anything I can do, just let me know. If you just need to talk or anything, I'll be here to listen. I don't care if you call me at 5:30 in the morning. I will always be here. Any time of day or night, no matter how far away, I will be here. I know you already know that, but it needs to be said.

To hear these words from your mouth, and to see you the way you were in 6th just breaks my heart. All my thoughts and prayers go out to you, Cole. I'm so sorry.

Oh, Cole ... that almost made me cry, and I only met Jake a few times. I remember when we had to let our first dog go, and how I cried and cried. I'm here for you, if you need me - I hope you know that. I hate seeing you hurting, I really do. I was looking through my pictures from last August the other day and telling people about how you came back to Annapolis to see me and how important you are to me... anyways if you want to talk, I'm here for ya.
