I like ol' McManus ... I don't remember if he talks about this or not but - An interesting point to note is how much emphasis is put, by churches today, on leadership. There are tons of books, classes, seminars, sermons, workbooks, conferences, etc. on leadership - growing leaders - training leaders, and the like.

So why is it not working?

I think for the most part it simply comes down to the old saying "Information without Application leads to Frustration."

Unfortunately, most churches today in our country talk a big game about developing leaders/ministers/influencers, but they don't give their "leaders", that they have worked so hard at training and teaching, an opportunity to put it into practice. When it comes down to it ... generally speaking, they pretty much suck at DOING IT, SHOWING IT, LIVING IT, BEING IT.

Especially with more of the upcoming and younger generations ... dude, you can talk all day - I don't give a rip - I want to see something happen.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
