Splits are music albums which includes tracks by two artists. The artists are usually the same genre of music and sometimes they cover each other. I was going through some splits I had and thought about how good some of them are. Here's a post with some of my favorites. Feel free to post your favorites too!
Dashboard Confessional/New Found Glory
Tracklisting:
1.) New Found Glory - Swiss Army Romance
2.) New Found Glory - Saints and Sailors
3.) Dashboard Confessional - Better Off Dead
4.) Dashboard Confessional - All About Her
Download The title of this album is "Swiss Army Bro-Mance" which I thought was cute (playing off the title of Dashboard Confessional's album/song "Swiss Army Romance", which I think is my favorite song off the split). The bands cover two songs from each other. I liked hearing New Found Glory's covers of Dashboard Confessional's songs. I'm not as familiar with New Found Glory's original songs, but I think Dashboard Confessional always does a good job with covers.
Motion City Soundtrack/Limbeck
Tracklisting:
1) Motion City Soundtrack - The Sun Woke the Whole State
2) Limbeck - Perfect Teeth
Download This is a good split with Motion City Soundtrack and Limbeck covering each other's songs. I like Limbeck's version of "Perfect Teeth" better than the original. There's also a good split of Motion City Soundtrack with Matchbook Romance.
Punchline/Over It
Tracklisting:
1) Punchline - Battlescars (acoustic)
2) Over It - Partner In Crime
Download I listened to this split a lot when I first got in to Punchline. The acoustic version of "Battlescars" is great. Even though I don't listen to Over It, I love the song they have on here and I think it fits well with Punchline.
Alkaline Trio/Hot Water Music
Tracklisting:
1. Alkaline Trio - Queen of Pain
2. Alkaline Trio - While You're Waiting
3. Alkaline Trio - Rooftops
4. Hot Water Music - God Deciding
5. Hot Water Music - Russian Roulette
6. Hot Water Music - Radio
7. Hot Water Music - Bleeder
Download This split is a little longer than the others. I usually end up listening to Hot Water Music's cover of "Bleeder" and Alkaline Trio's cover of "Rooftops" which are my favorites.
