She had been riding one of their horses as she often loved to do when the clasp slipped and the chain fell from her neck. She tried to catch it before it could get away from her, but with no luck.
She pulled the reigns and turned the horse before dismounting and searching the area for where it may have landed.

His eyes cut through the water as the necklace sank, dropping further into the water and more out of Lana's reach. She was a pretty girl, one of the local founding families, from what he could gather from the chatter. He was still convinced that the curse was never going to be broken, but that didn't mean he couldn't at least try.
