Summary: She was smarter than this.
No! She screamed at her fast beating heart. She swallowed hard, trying not to let anything show as Kyouya Ootori’s face was mere inches from hers, and his sardonic smirk almost mocking her as butterflies erupted in her chest. She tried to focus on his eyes, not his eyes, stare at his nose! Anything was better than those lips that drew her into him. Her hands shook as she swallowed hard. No, stop this! She screamed at herself.
The smile slipped and his brows furrowing, wrinkling his forehead. “Did you hear my proposal?” Haruhi’s eyes went wide at the word proposal, but instantly shook her head; face heating up as he moved away. Stop it mind! Stop! He pushed up his glasses, “Are you alright Haruhi? It would be better if you didn’t participate in club today if you aren’t feeling well.”
Haruhi started feeling better, almost normal now that Kyouya was out of her personal space. She sighed, “Because it will hurt sales?” Haruhi wanted to smile at how her voice was even and almost deadpan as the heart that beat wildly in her chest begun to beat slower.
She watched him shrug, “I suppose, but I can care about your well being now can’t I”
She tried to swallow but failed as her heart sped up once again. “I’m fine.” She took a deep breath. “I’m fine, Kyouya-sempai.”
He gave her a hard look before shrugging, turning his attention back to his notebook.
She watched him walk away, relaxing besides her fluttering stomach. No, she took a deep breath, closing her eyes, I’m smarter than this, I can’t…it’s not possible, probable! She opened her eyes and watched him flip through his notebook almost bored. As if feeling her eyes on him, which he probably did, and he gave her an almost knowing smile.
“If you do, it’s half of your debt.”
“Half!? What?!” He just smiled and walked away. She jumped up, dashing after him, “Wait! Tell me again Kyouya-sempai!” wiping her clammy hands on her pants before reaching for his jacket. He turned to her, eyes filled with amusement.
No, liking Kyouya Ootori is a stupid idea. But it can’t be helped.
