I just saw King Kong, and it might have been one of the saddest movies I've ever seen. It seemed to be representative of all that I don't like about the world now. I'm sure a lot of people weren't affect by the relationship between the girl and Kong, and I'm sure a lot of people didn't see the social commentary that was woven into the script, and I ( Read more... )

this is why i can relate to you my friend. i saw it tonight and it made me really sad. the relationship between ann darrow and kong is kinda heartbreaking. i'm not one to cry or whatnot, but i definitely had a couple moments, especially when they're on top of the empire state building, where i was really sad.

and it did say a lot about the world we live in. that's what i respect most about peter jackson and the film itself. there's social commentary weaved in, but you've gotta be intuitive to get it.

it was an excellent film, regardless of what people think of it and its length. and yeah, those special effects were fucking rad as hell also.
