LOL.. My best friend works for an attorney. She wants me to send out a proposal to every Congressman and state education agency in the US. she hears me rant all of the time. I went to school in Germany and many of my ideas are based on the German school system.
Couldn't agree with you more. One of my friends is a public high school teacher, has been for 25+ years. In her experience, there's been very little success with the programs. Most of her students are awaiting trial for one crime or another, and have little to no interest in learning. Yet, a fixed percentage of students must be passed or the school loses funding, and the final grades she assigns have often been changed to meet the quota. To what end? Who really benefits? Nobody. And the result is as you stated in #17 and #18.

I can imagine that after 25 years she has seen it go downhill. I have only taught for 11 and I see the change. It is awful.
