I'm just not feeling the brotherliness this season at all. Last season gets a free pass considering the characters story arch but there were more moments in the latter half of the season than this one. As a friend pointed out, the chemistry went south after 7.02 ( Read more... )

I hope Rachel Miner is ok because she looked a little bloated. She didn't have much expression, moved awkwardly and not much attention was drawn to her full body.

Wow you noticed that as well? I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to be mean but I did notice right away how her general face area looked puffy and very plump. I do hope she is ok.

Well as I was informed through comments, she had spinal surgery. I'm glad she was able to be part of the show again.

Rachel Miner had some kind of spinal surgery and has been taking steroids for it, which is why her face looks a bit bloated. Can't wait for fandom's 'OMG SHE'S FAT CAS SHOULD BE WITH DEAN' reactions :/

Also yeah missed brother opportunities but holy shit, Sam, I love him too much to be upset. If this ep had been 90% him with no Cas (bleh) and 10% Dean, as only related to his brother, I woulda been fine. Jared knocked this one out of park.

I agree that Jared did a phenomenal job in this episode. He wasn't lacking.

My reaction over Rachel was of concern. Didn't know about the surgery so that makes sense. A couple of friends cited steroids for reparative therapy. I'm glad she was able to come back on the show afterwards. Show could have easily cast Meg in another meat suit.

Edit: I figure they will wail because Dean said to screw Cas in the platonic sense and because he left Cas' ass in the hospital, CHOOSING HIS BROTHER OVER CAS!!!!!! Ok mini-rant is over. I do like Cas as the little sidekick and I hope the guys don't leave Cas in the psych ward for very long. I mean the only reason why I ever wanted Cas to return was so he could redeem himself and have a better send off.

yup I just figured you'd like to know what the reasoning behind it was!

i'm pretty amped for cas to be finally killed off in a permanent way. bringing him back time and again is getting...cheap.

Yup, total agreement about the highlights being Pellegrino being awesome and Cas' return, and that the inevitable memory-return montage could have been better. And I was actually smirking at the epic realism of the 'lockdown' psych ward. I hope that Rachel Miner is ok - but I'm fairly sure she'll be back. I have theories.
