As for your "talent", I bet Slash, Jimi Hendrix, and Carlos Santana all had to work for their talent too. Don't give up and ignore your dad. About church, some musicians actually started in church so you probaly would've wanted to be one anyway. As for going to church making your life better, that's not true. I think you're a great person anyway going to church or not. Look at Bryan, he's an amazing boyfriend and he didn't go to church. No offense Hannah.
