Some of the Possible Tasks you can take on to Help Prop up the Fannish Infrastructure (note: if you have other suggestions, leave a comment and I'll add it to the main list)
I am the person who volunteered in-panel to draft a standard for podfic metadata. I'm still in the research phase - seeing what standards might already exist that could be tweaked to suit fandom's needs - but please tell me the kinds of things you want to know about a podfic!
File information on the mp3/m4b Tags, title, author, etc. on AO3, podfic archives, journal sites, etc.

Thank you so much! I had been focusing on the library science side - journal articles and such - but should clearly have spent more time seeing what fandom might have already done!

Seconded -- Bessyboo's post on this is so good for my metadata-loving soul. You could also check out how some of the different podfic challenges and anthologies handle metadata, because I know these have been agonized over and thought through pretty carefully (for example, Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology submission guidelines). I bet that the archivists for the Audiofic Archive have strong and well thought out opinions on this too

and in another one I briefly wrote, as a podfic artist,
"[I] edit the info, filling in my name in as artist, the author’s name as composer, the fandom, and a link to the story + a link to my podfic tag in the comments field." (which is my bare minimum ID3 tagging)

another post that mentions metadata
Personally, I like metadata for podfic to include the following:
fandom and title
author's name
reader's name
cover artist's name (if there's a cover)
in the notes section, a link to the fic text (and I link to my AO3 or DW profile, unless I've made an AO3 draft post, in which case, I link to that)
I know some people like to have content warnings, pairings, etc. in the notes section, but I like to keep it more simple

Not sure any of that will help, but here it is :)
