Well, the second attempt went well. Got to phase 5.

Tanks borked phase 2 every other time though, of the 19 attempts we got in in 4 hours.

/sigh

We were not prepared. :(

Illidan is a damned fun fight really, though I pity anyone without a decent graphics card, my gods the flame animations!!

Phase 2 kiting looks kinda hard, but with the massive DPS upgrades everyone has, they shouldn't need to keep it up for long.

Well, yes. Extremely cryptic to those from different subclasses of geek.

World of Warcrack language. Tried to do a hard thing with 24 others last night online, and two people who had particular roles - difficult ones no doubt - didn't quite get it, which the 23 of us who weren't doing those roles couldn't make up for. (Actually there's a reasonable chance that one of the two of them at any one time was doing the right thing, but synchronisation is tricky.)

We could try Sunwell, but Illidan is the goal we set for pre-Lich King, and Sunwell may just be a whole different mental effort thing for the officers to try setting up and explaining. If we happen to go well Wed-Fri this week and down Illidan Friday there'd be a significant chance of a Monday Sunwell I think, or the week after if WotLK isn't out yet.

I understand tanking is hard, especially watching it later on videos, but it's frustrating when one or two people hold the entire raid in their hands and nothing I - as a healer - could do could make it any better.

As someone who's guild *finally* killed Illidan last Friday, I can completely understand.

Hardest part for flame tanks is learning not to die to the beam of death.

Now we just need to teach people to learn to use their Tears of Elune at the right time, and we should have Archimonde this week before the xpac.
