I don't know if your smut qualifies as smut. Yes, you explicitly depict sex, but every scene so far both here and in What You Don't Know has been two things: 1) Not very arousing and 2)Extremely emotionally engaging. Can something be that and be smut? I don't know. I don't know how you manage to do this, either. It's really impressive

I just don't find the caring, naivete, and repression particularly erotic. Emotionally engaged with the characters? Struck by the beauty of their relationship and their feelings for each other? Very much yes to both of those, but I just haven't found them to be arousing in the way I associate with smut. Perhaps that says more about my tastes and how they happen to line up with Airplane's writing style than it does about the story itself, but it still intrigues me.

Also, thank you. Gunnerkrigg Court is amazing, and it's always good to hear that other people have found that out.

It is all about personal preference. Usually I'm able to follow along with smut regardless of the chosen kink/themes, but I have certainly found a few that do nothing for me.
