This is just the sort of thing I've been thinking about in regards to Eugene and his past. Even if he's turned it all around, his past doesn't disappear into thin air. And how does he deal with that?
I'm not so sure I agree with the Queen's philosophy either, if only because it seems like the claims would only come faster if false ones were rewarded. I tried to think of what some historical kingly types would have done about totally groundless claims, but I'm coming up with nothing. *shrugs*
But Eugene's reaction to the whole scenario is really interesting. It seems like the sort of claim that would be particularly upsetting to him. Then the back and forth between him and the Queen is so snappy, it has such energy. Anyway, I really enjoyed this particular claimant.
