Icons: Stock Photography - Just Beachy

114 icons, theme: surf, sand, sea... aka the beach. Inspired by a crappy week at work and the desire to run to the nearest coast (which isn't near enough.)

I made the icons but all the credit goes to Getty Images for providing such absolutely stunning stock photography. If you take, please credit me and/or Getty Images. Also, feel free to use ( Read more... )

You know how I feel about these. *grabby hands* I want! We definitely need a beach trip soon.

As always, thanks for your seal of approval on these before they got posted. I'm glad you liked them as much as I do. :)

These are lovely! I've saved a bunch and will credit you as always. Gorgeous colouring.

I can't remember, have you done a drinks theme? I was looking at the drinks ones and thinking you could do a cocktails theme.

These are definitely some of my favorite and I had the most fun looking at these stock photos. I'm an ocean soul and I miss it terribly. That's my chief complaint about Georgia, it's 5 hours from the coast. I used to live just over an hour from it. I pout.

I'm so glad you liked these too. :)

AS for the drinks theme, I'm not sure if this is what you had in mind but I have done a chocolate and alcohol theme found here. If that's not what you had in mind, I could try a different approach. I didn't actually look up "cocktails" when I made those. hehe.

How could I have missed those with all that chocolate??

I'll probably snag some of both *g*

hehe. You used the surfer crossing icon. I love that one.

As for how you missed the chocolate and the booze, well... you do have a life. :) I'm glad you like.

Have taken 18, which is just lovely. I really like the juxtaposition of the bright sand and surf against the darkening clouds. *stares*

It reminds me a lot of here - we sometimes get afternoon storms over the ocean in summer.

I like the contrast of bright sand and dark sky in 18 as well. That's always been one of my favorite things - watching a storm coming in over the water. It's truly beautiful. I really miss being closer to the ocean.

As always, thanks for the support on these and thanks for the help with figuring out I need a new program. I was playing with layers and such last night trying to make something for a friends birthday and had fun. Can I ask you one thing though? How do you erase the background so well from the pictures? LOL. I was looking at the job I did and the job you did with Ian and Colby from the Rain Must Fall cover and had no idea how you mastered the art of the erase. Share with me your knowledge, wise one. *bows*

You are my graphics master, Obey Wan. *bows respectfully. I never even knew what the hell that free select tool was for until now! haha. I clearly need to spend more time playing! And thanks for the tip about blurring and smudging because I noticed that my background and my overlay picture still looked disjointed. Thanks so much for the help!!

Someone needs to go to the beach!

These are really pretty and I especially like the contrast in colors of many of these.

haha. Yes. Someone really DOES need to go to the beach. I even started applying for jobs in Maryland and South Carolina just so I could end up somewhere close to the ocean. It snows in Maryland but being an hour or less from the coast again? That would make it worth it.Hopefully sometime in September or October I can take a day or two and get to the coast. Gotta have some funds first. LOL.

I thought you'd like these. I got the idea from you when you went to the shore last weekend... and then had a crappy week at work so distracted myself with pictures of where I'd rather be. So, thanks for that. :)
