I'm really sorry that you lost such a dear friend. I know how hard it is to fathom why a life would be taken so early, especially when that life belonged to a great person. I never knew him, but I have heard great things about him. I know that you are going to try and be strong for your family and friends, so just know that I'm here for you if you need anything.
