So there *is* a name for this...irregularity of mine. It's called Grapheme-color synesthesia. I'm defective, apparently (if you read this or this). But it makes me feel a little more secure about it. After focusing on it a bit more, I've figurd out that it's more I see the colors in my head as I'm looking at the numbers on the page, sort of. And it ( Read more... )

I have that same problem. I wouldn't really call it a problem though. I also tend to associate some letters and whole words with colors also.

My friend Rissa has the same thing with numbers, letters, smells, words, etc.. Hers almost interferes with her explanations and such to people in design classes.

wow...I guess I'm lucky because mine's much milder and seems to be connected specifically to numbers? And it's basically just entertaining because I especially notice it when I'm doing Sudoku...it's easier to do the number ones than any other I guess mainly cuz I don't really have that kind of association with anything else. But that's really kind of awesome...as long as it's not too big of a problem for her.

He's not evil.. its all part of his master plan for you to capture him. :) Or maybe he's just clueless and I'm delusional. *hug* Interesting that he's more comfortable around you. What happened when you told him that night y'all went to a movie was fun?

erm...didn't actually get around to that? O:) I didn't see him till Thursday, and then we had a test...so yeah, haven't had much of a chance to talk to him recently other than last night. He'd messaged me to see what I was up to last night earlier in the evening (since he was on campus and knows I live on campus), and then when we met up he said something about how I should have been there, saying nothing about the rest of our friends that he knew I'd been hanging out with...and there was other stuff that happened that I could chalk up either to him liking me or to him being "in-eh-briated" (as he pronounced it) last night. I kind of feel bad for the kid on that count. We seriously need to build up his alcohol tolerance if he's going to spend the next 4 years in Ireland...:p

Wow. I'm kinda jealous. Ever since I read about synaesthetes I wished I could be one. It was actually a short story I read - and the person mixed colors and sounds. I wish I could do that.
