Grrr...only AZ would think of something this dumb. The tax does not go toward any anti-smoking education; the law makers are just seeing the smokers as a unlimited supply of extra tax funding

Now while I agree with the programs they are trying to support, I feel they are going about getting the funding the right way. If big corporations are already going to make donations, why not have those buy a piece of paper to sign your name on for $1 so that those who wish to support this can do so.
That's like the parks and forests. The camp grounds, etc were all self supporting until the state decided to take their money and put it in the General Fund. Now parks and camp grounds are closing and those that are open are SO expensive. Or how in Oregon most of the gas tax is siphoned into the general fund or to pay for the damn light rail in Portland. Most of the state does not use the light rail but we get to pay for it.
Also, I think that tobacco taxes should only be used for tobacco purposes (ie: stopping smoking, help with medical bills caused by smoking, etc).
