“It must be that flight” - Eloise repeats to herself through clenched teeth, roaming inside the empty church.
Three. Sixteen.
Carefully, she lights another candle, whispering desperate prayers.
Devotion to the Island, to his son, to his impending fate.
She has spent decades trying to find a solution, following instructions at the same time.
March 16th, 1997
The date haunts her, written all over her memories. She hears vivid fragments of the conversation and the pouring rain, her trembling hands holding the phone and his heavy breathing.
Three words, sixteen seconds of silence.
“I... hurt... her”
Numbers across his path. Science, mathematics. Unfortunately, there’s no more time for distractions.
