that's awesome. i love that seattle has its own (to my ears) perfectly generic sound.

I've sent it around and the feedback has been that Seattle is right on target. Maybe she's from there?

yeah, she's apparently from whidbey island (which is just in the sound here). http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/whidbey/archives/129691.asp

are the rest of them accurate? the british ones sound right from an outsider's perspective. most of the US ones seem slightly exaggerated, but that's probably how they're best recognized.

Whoops, that was me logged in at my other account.

Well, Texas, California, and New York sound off to me-- right pathway, but a little inconsistent. I'm sure that's the same for other natives of those accents. Makes sense that she's from Seattle. Good sleuthing.

On some level the exaggeration is part of the act. She changes her voice, expression, and intonation with each one as well.
