Eesh. Being a cynic, my first thought is that it's nothing more than a thinly veiled publicity stunt (this fact made easier for me to believe personally since I don't support McCain.) But seeing as it is almost Shabbat (and it is Shabbat for you- Shabbat Shalom!) maybe I should just take this as face value. After all of the crudity of political smears, it's nice to hear something so simply kind-hearted.

I've decided to take it at face value. I actually think that unlike other Republican candidates we've gone through in our lives (presidential and otherwise), McCain is in essence a good guy. I disagree with him on many points across the board, but there is something significant to be said about someone who is a good man in general.

Shavua tov, by the time you read this.

You know, I used to believe that McCain was basically a good guy, but now that I see who he's picked for his VP, and now that I see the way he has turned his back on almost EVERYTHING he has stood for over the years in order to curry favor with the Republicans, I don't think he's such a good guy anymore. The fact that he's cheated on both his wives, the first of whom was a model who he dumped after she was disabled and gained weight after a car accident, doesn't make me think he's such a good guy either. He started dating his current wife while he was still married to his first. I heard the commercial on tv the night it aired right after watching Obama give his acceptance speech. At first, I was just stunned. Moments later, I really wanted to throw up.
