My my, that's quite a gap in time.

More impressive is that it was only a few days on my part. Perhaps if I were to calculate exactly how long I have been away, I could arrive at a time conversion rate?

...But I suspect that given the irrationality of Mayfield as a whole, that may not work as well as I would expect.

Certainly not, by my own experiences. I was in Eientei longer than I was gone form here.

I see. Perhaps it would be better to leave this line of thought for later.

... At least you get right to the point. For that I will comply with your request.

*Alice explains the last six months starting from the beginning in extreme detail. She leaves out all personal experiences, however, and only talks about the affects that the town as a whole has suffered.*

Of course. Being vague or stalling one's speech is detrimental to both the speaker and the person the speaker is communicating with.

[And following Alice's explanation:]

Thank you very much. It seems like very little has changed since I was here last, though the implications of that are far from comforting.

If you expected to hear good news you must have forgotten what Mayfield is truly like. It could certainly be worse.

From my perspective, hearing that nothing has changed is good news, because it means I more or less have an idea of what to expect and therefore something of an advantage.

Of course I am. There is nothing to be gained from panicking.

That is because the urge to panic overrides logic in most instances. If more people simply took the time required of them to calm down and look at their situation rationally, I am certain there would be less panicking and more constructive questions asked.

But to expect this of so many is unrealistic.

Oh! It's nice to meet you, Sion-san! My name is Yomiko Readman!

... Although, do you think you can repeat what you said eariler one more time?

[oh no, Yomiko

what have you done

what have you unleashed upon the world]

What is it that requires repetition? Do you know how far back I have had to tone my vocabulary in order to be understood?! Do you realize how much effort it takes for me to speak in this manner?! What I said was perfectly clear, and if you could not understand it then it is simply a matter of your own inability to pay attention or to understand simple syntax!

[OH MY GOD

SHE IS HOLDING THE PHONE AWAY FROM HER EAR UNTIL SHE FINISHES TALKING]

Um, um! Please calm down! I can understand simple syntax just fine! Although maybe if you would write down everything that you said to me, I would be able to follow you a little more clearer...?

And if I do write it down, how exactly are you going to read it?

It's nice to hear you're back around, Sion...even if it is a little selfish.

Shiki?

...I had hoped you were no longer here.

I've been here the entire time. As in I haven't left at all.

I see. My condolences.

...I would also like to apologize for leaving so suddenly.
