wow! i actually got sleep last night! it neccessarily involved skipping history of modern germany this morning, but oh well, all good things come at a price. i've found that this applies to everything. 's not always a bad thing, but it's always true, i think. some prices are hard to pay. it's hard for me to make new friends, knowing that

yeah, i know most of the friends we hang out with in college won't last, but some will. every once in a while you meet the kind of friend you're not gonna let go of after college--not without a fight. call me an optimist, but i think some people are too unique to give up on or forget.

this has seemed true in some cases, but i'm not sure i understand the patterns.

i've kept in contact with kris, even though she's hurt me badly. i've kept up with ellie. yet i pretty rarely get ahold of ryan. it's probably just because he's hard to catch, but he's one of my closest friends, and you would think it would be more possible. and only one or two of my friends from home have made an effort to keep up with me.

it'll work out.
