We can't always agree with others and you shouldn't apologise for your point of view, that would be a fake resolution.
What you can apologise for is the way you dealt with it, because it's something you genuinely regret. I think it would be a bad idea to discuss it again though. Just tell this person that your views differ and it's best, for both of you, if you leave it at that.
