in the 60s, stanley milgram had the idea that germans were somehow more obedient to authority that demands unethical things than other nationalities were. he conducted a set of experiments which convinced him that nothing could be more wrong. you might try reading an article on the experiments: "If Hitler asked you to Electrocute a Stranger, would you? Probably." (Philip Meyer).

i've read a lot about those experiments already. good stuff. i don't know if i'm going to include that material in the paper or not. i may have too much without it.
