03. Emma didn't mind that she was on the fringe of the team, it was the truth that Scott didn't see her as one of them that truly hurt.

04. The purr of the motor made Emma grin as she slid onto the back of the bike, arms slinking around Scott's waste to hold on tight.

05. Emma didn't stick the note to Tony's desk, instead attaching it firmly to his forehead.

06. "I suppose it's nice enough, if you like crystal rather than diamond for your engagement ring,' Emma said, smirking as she left the shattered girl in her wake.

07. The night was as dark as his eyes, raven black and deadly, and Emma couldn't bring herself to look away.

8. Without breaking stride, Emma yanked the headphones from off Jubilee's head and kept walking, the music player trailing in her wake.

09. "Fourteen billion on a jet and yet you still need the telepath to protect you because the masking is the only thing not working?"

10. Emma laid back as Scott asked, trying to stare at the clouds and see something but all she could think of was the grass stains forming on her clothes.

13. Despite the bright light, Emma kept her eyes closed tight, unwilling to find out who was sharing her bed with her.

14. Steam billowed through the bathroom, the scent of jasmine and morning glory filling the small room.

15. The jet was fueled, take off okayed and yet Emma waited, wondering if Sebastian was worth waiting for and ruining her vacation.

16. Staring at the small disk, Emma shook her head and tossed the sand dollar back into the ocean, worthless thing that it was.

17. The envelope came in the afternoon mail, and by dinner the contents were nothing but kindling and smoke.

18. Despite the lips trailing over her skin, Emma kept pen to paper, writing the missive that would tell the man trying to seduce her just what a slug she thought he was.

19. Closing her eyes, Emma trusted they had done right and that the world still swirled beneath them in shades of blue and green.

20. If the student drumming does not cease immediately, I will ensure they can not form coherent sentences until they're at least... HE*click*

21. The island offered sun, surf and tours yet Emma refused to risk her skin by stepping outside of the hotel.

22. Her hand found his, tapered digits holding his rougher ones as they pretended to hate one another for the sake of the children.

23. The pearls her been her mother's and Emma was glad to see their sale pay for her brother's next two years of therapy.

24. The clasp held the cloak firmly to her throat, despite the play of lips and teeth along her skin.

25. It was the only part of service Emma had ever enjoyed and she smiled as the song washed over her, refusing to participate despite her enjoyment.

26. A brow arched, utter disdain showing on her face as the students used their strawberry licorice for straws in their sodas.

27. What was left of the car was twisted metal and Emma wondered what disaster Scott and Logan had been through to leave it looking that way.

28. Smiling as she snuggled up to him, Emma didn't even blink as she brought the scissors to the back of Sebastian's head and ensured the ponytail was no more.

29. Her hand cupped his cheek, leaning in for a kiss that never happened and she'd never have the chance for a again.

30. "So help me god, if you make a scene, Tony, I will ensure you spend your life drooling Logan's name."

34. Sliding into her highest heels, Emma stepped up toe to toe with Sean, silently cursing under her breath that she still wasn't tall enough to look him dead in the eyes.

35. "One day they'll construct a temple to me and you'll be nothing but a lowly servant bow at my feet so, well, nothing will have changed."

36. "I can shred your brain with a thought and you think I'm worried about your little sword?"

37. If Emma were to be an animal, she would be part house cat with a lot of wild tiger on the side and most only saw the latter.

38. Looking at Scott, resplendant in his tone on tone tuxedo, Emma couldn't help but sigh and mutter, 'We look like a photo negative."

39. It wasn't that Emma Frost, telepath and former political hopeful, was negative about her chances; she just didn't believe the baseline humans could change.

40. Sleep was a hard won battle, every night the images of the children she lost haunted Emma's thoughts and dreams until coffee and naps became her dearest friends.

41. Sitting cross legged on the corner of her desk, Ms Frost monitored the room on a telepathic level, ensuring that none of the Hellions cheated on their test.

42. "That isn't even a snack, Emma,' Scott growled, putting another serving of the casserole onto her plate, though they both knew she wouldn't eat it.

43. Sunshine poured into the room, the promise of summer causing Emma to grumble and mutter for the better part of the day.
