Yeah, Puddy is a horrible person and it has nothing to do with the alcohol. I mean, two bottles a day before she even turned 16, by her own account, that can't make her an alcoholic, no way. So obviously, she doesn't need any help and should just be kicked in the face until she becomes a better person, right? That's probably been tried before, although it's only been hinted at, so far, and not said explicitely, because Puddy is such a self-consident person she has no problem confiding in others.
OK, sarcasm off. Now, I don't actually believe that Puddy deserves help at this point, since she hasn't acknowledged her problems, but she definitely needs help. But then again, so does just about every character in this drama-fest. Unless I missed something, there isn't a single balanced, healthy character in this story (Bohd, maybe? She is not developed enough as a character to be sure,) so at this point baggage is more a matter of keeping up with the Joneses.
Wow- I'm actually feeling optimistic about this turn of events. Puddy's abusive tendencies have finally come into the light, and now something will have to be done. Granted, I still wish that Mack had scorched the bitch, but oh well, that's life.
Poor Two. *offers her a big bowl of bannana pudding*
The problem is, as much as Something Must Be Done, in life often nothing is done. People just wait for the uncomfortable situation to go away, and then move on with life, hoping it goes back to 'normal.' Because that's easier and safer than trying to Do Something.
Heroes are people who do things because it has to be done, and nobody else will do it. As much as that may make heroes people who should be admired, the dark truth is what it says about the rest of us...
I agree, though I also wish Mack didn't have morals ground SO deeply into her head that she refused to just blow Puddy away in a fire blast. I mean hell, a dwarf may be resistant to fire, but a bone crushing explosion is still a bone crushing explosion... >.>;
It'd be good if she was a hero about it. By this point, it'd be better if she wasn't afraid to be a little demonic about it.
First Post! Fantastic, Mack finally made some kind of decision concerning the way Puddy treats her. Also, meta-storty question... If Two's Two, who's One??

Ooooh, are you reading HP7? I'm goint to start the audio book at work tomorrow, but I have to ask one tiny thing... I don't normally go for spoilers, but this something I've been wondering about for a while now, and I've seen all the arguments for one way or another and honestly, everybody makes some pretty good points, but I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep tonight with this question bouncing around in my head, so...
Is your name supposed to be "Pope Lizbet", or "Pop Elizbet?"
Re: First (maybe) and augh...popelizbetJuly 31 2007, 03:19:09 UTC
Hee! It's Pope Lizbet, although I realized shortly after the creation of the username that people might read it the other way. Doesn't really bug me. (In case you care, and to allow for shameless friend promotion, the lovely Sooj of www.skinnywhitechick.com is the progenitor of the name.)
I know most of the posters that don't call you MU call you Lexy, but in homage to the great Pratchett, I'll stick with AE, if it's all the same to you. :)
